- Families can cancel or request a weather move up to 24 hours before the session if the forecast hits our rain/wind threshold
- No automatic backup date — reschedules only into open photographer slots
- Day-of safety (lightning, etc.) is the photographer’s call; if they stop the shoot, we reschedule or refund
- Cancel and reschedule requests go through the site or the booking email — not side texts
Planning your family beach photo session
General tips for beach portraits anywhere on the coast.
What time of day is best for beach photos?
Soft light near sunrise or in the hour or two before sunset is usually the most flattering. Midday sun is bright and overhead, which causes squinting and hard shadows.
What should our family wear?
Coordinated, not matching: two or three soft colors that work together, simple fabrics, and few large logos or busy prints. Light layers help if the evening turns breezy.
Any tips for kids?
Plan around naps and meals, bring water and a small snack, and keep a towel handy. Short, playful sessions tend to go better than long posed ones.
What about wind and weather?
Beaches are often breezy, so plan hair and clothing that can handle wind. If the forecast turns, the weather policy above explains how cancellations and moves work.
